Maid abuses is a problem in Malaysia.
Many of the maid abusers are just ordinary people i.e housewifes.

Why a normal peace loving people can act cruetly?

The main reason is they have a wrong view about maid and what is a maid?

A maid just a dosmestic helper which just like other employee who has the basic human right and basic right as a employee which include weekend off.

The problem is when the employers starts to think otherwise.
Here are the list of wrong perception of maid and if you have such view, you are at risk of become a maid abuser.
1. Maid must be on duty 24 hrs or work as least 12 hrs
2. No weekend off for maid
3. They must be guarded and watch
4. They are not to serve same food or share food with rest of familyt members
5. If the maid is free, she may help my relatives housechore.
6. Maid is uneducation, superstitious and possible do harm to family members
7. No need to treat maid with respect. My children are taught to shout at maid and made orders
8. Maids must be desciplined with included this: skip meal, standing for long hrs, locked in room, beaten up

The abuse started without we realised it.

A case happened sometime ago. A single mom who often forced the maid stands outside the house as a form of punishment. Eventually, she started to beat up the maid. This single mother’s mother fail to prevent her daughter from committing the act.

IN fact, family members are co-defendant, usually the authority charged the main abuser and the other escapes.

It’s seem like the PWD scholarship fiasco finally over.

Well, congratulating those who got the scholarship and my message for the not so lucky fellows, there are many opportunities awaiting for you and keep working hard.

I have classmates who got scholarship, manage to get herself into top UK medicine school, graduated and currently serve in NHS.

Can you identify the problem in the statement above?

If you notice, they got Malaysia government scholarship to study medicine and now treating the kwailow!!! Don’t bother to come back to serve the rakyat.

See, we got a group of selfish people who think they can get away after promise to serve.
I am very sure during the interview, they can promise everything,

They are so many of them and you can’t do anything about it.

I can only hope is that whoever got the scholarships, remember this is not a jackpot or lottery, it’s my tax money and many of our fellow countrymen tax money. We paid you so that you got a good education  and return from oversea to serve the people.

So, choosing to stay on and forgot your early promise is simply unacceptable and just irresponsibe. It is a act of betrayal to the country who had sponsored your education.

I have no problem if you decided no to return, afterall it’s your future. Then why don’t you repaid  the scholarship since your salary is several times of wthat we are earning back here.
